Become a Goldpanner Host Family
The Goldpanners need host families each season. Host families play a crucial role in summer collegiate baseball, as nearly all the players are from out of state. These young men are very focused on the sport of baseball. Please consider opening your home and heart by adding a player to your family for the summer.
Some requirements to be a Host Family are:
- Feeding and caring for your player(s) as if they are a member of your own family. Some players can fend for themselves if food is available, while others might need more assistance in the kitchen and laundry room.
- The Goldpanners play nearly everyday, so constant laundering is needed. Again, most players are handy with this while some may need your assistance.
- Recently, the Goldpanner organization has provided vehicles to players for transportation to and from the field for games or practices. If a host family is able to provide a vehicle, it is appreciated.
The time players spend in Fairbanks during June and July, is approximately 6 weeks. It is common for the team to be traveling or on the road for two weeks or so during the season. These guys can pretty much care for themselves, but we would rather piece them with a family that would treat them as if they were a part of their family. Season and Midnight Sun game tickets will be given to all Host Families.
