The Anchorage Glacier Pilots, making their third straight appearance in the championship game, won their second NBC title with a 5-4 win over their fierce rival Goldpanners. Anchorage scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning on a two-out double by Larry Corrigan to cap a 7-0 tournament for the Glacier Pilots. Anchorage right fielder Bruce Bochte, was the Most Valuable Player in the tournament. He wound up with 15 hits in 28 trips for a .536 average. Dave Winfield appeared in five tournament games as a relief pitcher. He was 2-1 with a 3.97 ERA.
