Kellen's grandfather Harry Wise goes back to Don Dennis' very beginning in summer ball in 1962. Don got started in 1961 with a visit to Grand Junction. But, Harry Wise is a legend player/manager from the once great, great Basin League. He was a highly respected scout and also legendary baseball coach at Englewood High in CO.

Kellen and his twin brother led Mullen High in Denver to football and baseball titles. Brother went to CSU on scholarship to play football but Kellen wanted to play baseball. Played last summer for Aurora, Colorado summer team right out of high school and stole 50 bases in 60 games. His is 6-2, 190 and wants to be outfielder but was mainly a pitcher in high school and last summer.

Kellen's father is sports director for Denver pro teams and was a minor league pitcher. Pitched for Littleton Prospectors against Panners in 1976 in a tournament at Pueblo.
