A two-sport star at William Fremd High School, Tauchman roams the outfield on the baseball team while setting seven school records as the quarterback of the football team.  As a junior centerfielder last spring, Tauchman hit .365 with one homerun, six doubles and 12 stolen bases.  His .460 on-base percentage helped him score 38 runs last year, when he was named to the all-area team.

 

During the summer, Tauchman hit .400 with two homeruns, 14 doubles, three triples and 10 stolen bases.  He was invited to the Northwestern Suburban Showcase at Stevenson High School, as well as the Kaiser Games of Chicago Showcase.  He is currently rated as the No. 44 player in the state of Illinois by Prep Baseball Report.

 

This fall, Tauchman accounted for 17 touchdowns (10 passing and seven rushing), helping him all-conference honors for his play on the gridiron.

 

“Mike will always have the distinction of being our first committed recruit at Bradley,” said Bradley Baseball head coach Elvis Dominguez.  “He is an extraordinary athlete.  Mike brings a football mentality to the baseball field each day.  He is a great leader as one of his baseball team’s captains as well as the quarterback of his football team, where he possesses Tim Tebow-like skills.  Mike has the ability and makeup to have a flourishing career as a Bradley Brave.”
